We are a world leader in the manufacture of components for the civil and military aero engine markets. This covers both fixed wing and helicopter applications. Our client list includes all the leading aero engine manufacturers such as Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney, GE, Snecma and MTU. We have also more recently won a contract to supply engine components for the Boeing B787 'Dreamliner'. We have also been awarded a long term supply agreement for auxiliary power units from Hamilton Sundstrand for this aircraft.
We manufacture the following 'critical' components for turbofan aero engines:
It should be noted that the list set out above is not exhaustive in terms of our capabilities.
In particular, we are particularly proud of our position as one of the world's largest and most respected manufacturers of superalloy barstock to the aerospace industry. We have sites in the UK (Ross & Catherall near Sheffield) and USA (Certified Alloy Products Inc or CAPI in Long Beach, California) dedicated to this technology.
We also offer a specialist metal spinning service, working with high temperature alloys that are critical to efficient aero-engine operation.
Our range of specialist fasteners are manufactured to exceed the critical temperature and fatigue requirements of aero-engines and, as a leader in advanced cooling technologies, we employ leading edge manufacturing techniques to ensure our components stand up to the most demanding environments.
With the breadth and depth of our manufacturing processes - investment castings, precision forgings, fabrications and machining, the division is in an enviable position of being able to offer application-ready parts and to offer a demonstrable capability of a supply chain solution provider.
We are involved in most new generation aero engine programmes and have over 30 years' experience in this market. We have manufacturing facilities in the UK, Continental Europe, USA and Mexico. We have numerous quality and accreditations from customers and a reputation for working closely and efficiently with all of them.
This division is currently experiencing a strong upturn in demand for new civil aircraft engines as well as a growing market for spares in aero engine manufacturers' installed bases.
As with every Doncasters division, attention to detail, responding to client requirements as regards specifications, product delivery and manufacturing costs that are highly competitive are 'high priority' for the group.
